ABOUT
The Embrace Diversity Political Movement is a political movement by and for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex and Queer individuals that are pro-ANC and its Mass Democratic Movement alliance partners. The EDPM holds a commitment to building a society that embraces diversity and strive for the equality of all who live in South Africa, particularly those in the minority. The collective uses its political position to advocate for social and economic inclusion for all LGBTIQ persons. The founding charter commits to realise a South Africa where,

-
Sexuality differences are promoted and respected,
-
LGBTIQs are united, consolidated, trained and developed to better access socio-economic opportunities.
-
The development of our policy acknowledges the gains of the preceding two decades and address the challenge of inequality, poverty, unemployment and persistent division based on sexuality.
-
LGBTIQs are entrusted and deployed to various governance platforms and diplomatic corps
-
We also recognize the principle guidelines enunciated in the South African National Framework for Women Empowerment and Gender Equality were drawn directly from a consultative process, which proposed that the ANC could advance the integration on gender consideration into the transformation of the country by ensuring that;
There is equality of all persons and that non-sexism and non-racism as enshrined in the constitution of the country remains the party’s top priority. We are of a view that the principle must inform all policies and programs that will lead to the implementation of gender equality. Furthermore, distinctions according race, class, sexuality, disability, age, geographic locations and other variables should not be overlooked or taken for granted. However, similarities should also be used to strengthen initiatives designed to revers past gender and sexuality discrimination.
